What the PDF Genesis - Ask Anything From PDF app collects, how it is used, and how to delete it.

This policy explains what information the PDF Genesis - Ask Anything From PDF app ("PDF Genesis", "the app") collects, how it is used, and how you can delete it. PDF Genesis is provided by Shreeji Consultancy Technology ("SCT", "we", "us", "our").

01In short

  • We use your PDFs and questions only to give you summaries and answers.
  • We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your documents or chats to train AI models.
  • You can delete any document, your chats, or your whole account at any time, and deletion happens straight away.

02Information we collect

Account information

You sign in with Google. We do not receive your Google password. Google shares:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your profile picture
  • Your Google account ID

Your documents and chats

  • PDF files you upload, including edited copies you save from the PDF editor (for example with notes, highlights or a signature you added). We also store the file name, size and page count.
  • The text read from your PDFs, which is needed to answer questions about them.
  • Summaries, suggested questions and answers created for your documents.
  • The questions you ask and the conversations you have about a document.
  • Reports you send us about an AI answer or summary, including the reason, any details you add, and a copy of the reported text.

Usage information

  • We count how many PDFs you upload, questions you ask and summaries you create each day. We use these counts to apply the app's daily limits.

Technical information

  • Our servers keep technical logs for security and troubleshooting. These logs record things like the time of a request, the address requested and your account ID. They do not contain the content of your documents or chats.
  • Your IP address is used briefly to protect the service from abuse, for example to limit repeated sign-in attempts.

The app keeps some information on your phone and never sends it to us:

  • Your sign-in session, held in your device's secure storage.
  • Copies of your PDFs, kept so they open quickly.
  • The last signature you drew in the PDF editor. If you add it to a PDF and save that PDF, it becomes part of the document you upload.

Signing out, or signing in with a different account, removes the cached PDFs and the saved signature from the device.

PDF Genesis does not collect your location, contacts, photos, or device advertising ID. It does not contain advertising or third-party analytics, and it takes no payments.

03How we use your information

  • To provide the app: storing your PDFs, reading their text, creating summaries, and answering your questions.
  • To show your account, documents and chat history in the app.
  • To apply daily limits and keep the service available for everyone.
  • To protect the service against abuse, fraud and security threats.
  • To review reports about AI output and improve how the app handles them.
  • To reply when you contact us.

We do not use your documents, questions or answers for advertising. We do not sell them, and we do not use them to train AI models.

04How AI features work

To create summaries, suggested questions and answers, PDF Genesis sends the relevant text from your PDF, and your question, to an AI service provider. That provider processes the content and returns a result. We send only what is needed to answer the request, and we never send your password. We may change the AI provider we use, but every provider is used only to generate responses for you.

AI-generated content can be incomplete or wrong. Please check important information against the original document. You can report any answer or summary from inside the app.

05When we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:

With service providers
These help us run PDF Genesis: Google, for sign-in; AI service providers, to generate summaries and answers; and hosting and storage providers, which keep the service running. They may use the information only to provide those services.
For legal reasons
When the law requires it or a valid legal request is made. We also share information when it is needed to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or SCT.
In a business transfer
Such as a merger or sale of SCT or the app. This policy would continue to apply to your information.

06How we protect your information

  • All data between the app and our servers is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
  • Your PDFs are kept in private storage. They can only be opened through short-lived links that are created for your account.
  • Each document and chat is only accessible to the account that created it.

No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.

07How long we keep information

  • Your documents, their text, summaries and chats are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
  • Deleting a document also deletes its text, summary, suggested questions and chats.
  • Deleting your account deletes everything described above, straight away: your account details, all PDFs and edited copies, their text, summaries, chats, usage counts and reports.
  • Technical logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.

08Deleting your data

    Delete it from the app at any time.

  2. 2Your account, in the app

    Open Profile → Settings → Delete account.

  3. 3Your account, without the app

    Visit https://pdf-genesis-backend.sct.technology/delete-account and sign in with the same Google account.

  4. 4By email

    Write to contactus@sct.technology from the email address on your account.

09Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you have these rights:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account.
  • Raise a complaint (grievance) with us.
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you.

Your name, email and profile picture come from your Google account, so changes you make there appear in the app the next time you sign in. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will reply within one month.

10Children

PDF Genesis is meant for people aged 13 and over, including students who use it for learning and educational purposes. It is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

If you are under 18, you may use PDF Genesis only with the permission of your parent or legal guardian. Your information is handled exactly as described in this policy: we show no ads, do not track or profile you for advertising, and never sell your data.

If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, or that someone under 18 is using the app without their parent's or guardian's permission, contact us and we will delete the account.

11Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you in the app before they take effect.
