PDF Genesis Terms of Service

PDF Genesis is for anyone aged 13 or over, including students who use it for learning and educational purposes. You must not use it if you are under 13.

If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use PDF Genesis only with the permission of your parent or legal guardian. They must read and accept these terms on your behalf, and they are responsible for your use of the app.

You sign in with a Google account. Keep that account secure: you are responsible for what happens under your PDF Genesis account.

PDF Genesis lets you:

• upload and store PDF files;
• view and edit your PDFs;
• get AI-generated summaries;
• ask questions about your PDFs.

It is designed to help with reading, studying and understanding documents such as class notes, textbooks, research papers and reports.

The service is currently free. It has limits, such as how many documents you can store and how many questions or summaries you can create each day. The app shows your current limits. We may change features and limits, add new ones, or stop offering parts of the service.

If we ever introduce paid plans, they will be offered through Google Play, and you will see their price and terms before you buy.

You keep all rights to the PDFs you upload and the questions you ask ("your content").

You give us permission to store, copy and process your content only as needed to run PDF Genesis for you. This includes reading the text of your PDFs and sending relevant parts of it, with your questions, to the AI service providers that produce summaries and answers. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell it. The PDF Genesis Privacy Policy explains how we handle it.

You confirm that you have the right to upload and use your content. You also confirm that doing so does not break any law, contract or anyone else's rights, such as copyright or confidentiality.

You agree not to:

• upload content that is illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• upload content that contains malware or harmful code;
• use PDF Genesis to harass, defraud or harm anyone;
• try to get the AI to produce illegal, hateful, sexually explicit or dangerous content;
• get around usage limits, for example with multiple accounts, automation or scripts;
• access the service other than through the app;
• interfere with or disrupt the service, or try to gain access to accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
• copy, reverse engineer or resell the app or the service, except where the law allows it.

Summaries, suggested questions and answers are created automatically by AI. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, even when they cite pages from your document.

AI output is for information only. It is not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice, and it does not replace your own study or your teachers' guidance. Check important information against the original document, and get professional advice where you need it.

You are responsible for how you use AI output. If an answer or summary is offensive, harmful or wrong, please report it from inside the app.

The PDF editor lets you add notes, highlights and signatures to your documents. You are responsible for the documents you edit and sign. Make sure you are allowed to sign them, and that a signature added this way meets any legal requirements that apply to you. PDF Genesis does not verify identity and does not provide certified digital signatures.

PDF Genesis is not a backup service. We work to keep the service reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own copies of any document that matters to you. Deleted documents, chats and accounts cannot be recovered.

The app is owned by SCT and protected by intellectual property laws. This includes its design, software, name and logo. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose while you follow these terms.

Google Sign-In and Google Play are provided by Google under Google's own terms.

You can stop using PDF Genesis and delete your account at any time. Use Profile → Settings → Delete account in the app, or visit https://pdf-genesis-backend.sct.technology/delete-account.

We may suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms, puts other users or the service at risk, or if the law requires us to. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first. If we stop offering PDF Genesis, we will give you notice in the app so that you can download your documents.

PDF Genesis is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises of any kind about the service. In particular, we do not promise that it will be accurate, reliable, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that it is free of errors. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

As far as the law allows, SCT is not liable for loss or damage that is indirect, incidental, special or consequential. This includes loss of data, profits or business, and loss that results from relying on AI-generated content. Because the service is free, our total liability to you for any claim about PDF Genesis is limited to INR 1,000.

If someone brings a claim against SCT because of your content or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover the losses and reasonable costs that result, as far as the law allows.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using PDF Genesis after that, you accept the updated terms.
